Although a baseball mecca for decades, the Cubans were the first Havana entry into U.S. baseball. Their domination of the Florida International League led to a promotion to AAA status as the Sugar Kings, and an adoption of the slogan "Un paso mas, y llegamos!" ("One more step, and we arrive!")
