PCL: Post-1957
The PCL underwent a shift after 1957 when several franchises were displaced by the LA Dodgers and San Francisco Giants. In their place the league added teams in Spokane, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, and perhaps most famously Hawaii. Some teams were returning to the league, while others were brand new additions, but they all expanded the reach of the PCL.

Hawaii Islanders
Hawaiians were thrilled about the arrival of their first professional baseball team in 1961. The Islanders chose revolutionary (at the time) color scheme of kelly green and gold. The Islanders were affiliated with the Kansas City Athletics. Is this what gave Charlie Finley the idea for the A's new color scheme?
Spokane Indians
A 22-year-old outfielder named Jim Lefebvre hit .265 for the '64 Indians, who were then the class-AAA affiliate for the Los Angeles Dodgers. The following season, Lefebvre was called up by the Dodgers and won the National League Rookie of the Year award, in addition to helping the Dodgers win the 1965 World Series.
Salt Lake City Bees
The Bees joined the PCL in 1915 when the Missions of San Francisco relocated to Salt Lake City. Despite finishing second with a 116-84 record and featuring stars like Tony Lazzeri (who hit 60 home runs) and Lefty O’Doul, owner Bill Lane decided to more the team to Los Angeles for the 1926 season. Salt Lake City returned to the PCL in 1958, when several Coast League franchises were displaced by the Dodgers and Giants move West.
