Kansas City Monarchs 1942 Authentic Wool Ballcap- White / Red
AN AUTHENTIC REPRODUCTION OF THE 1942 KC MONARCHS ON-FIELD BALLCAP, WORN BY SATCHEL PAIGE
History: One of the most renowned Negro Leagues teams of all time, the Kansas City Monarchs produced fourteen Hall of Famers, from Bullet Rogan in the 1920s to Jackie Robinson and Satchel Paige in the 1940s and Ernie Banks in the early 1950s. Made up of players from the All Nations barnstorming team and the Army’s 25th Infantry Wreckers, the Monarchs got their start in 1920 and played through 1965.
To honor the 1942 team and the cap most well-known for being worn by Satchel Paige at the peak of his powers, we recreated their on-field lid, complete with genuine wool broadcloth, red and blue stripes, and felt lettering.
