Homestead Grays 1939 Authentic Wool Home Baseball Jersey
AN AUTHENTIC REPLICA OF THE 1939 GRAYS JERSEY, WORN BY JOSH GIBSON
History: An undeniable powerhouse club, the Homestead Grays won nine consecutive league titles and three Negro World Series championships from 1937 to ‘48. In 1931, the Grays’ prolific lineup featured five future Hall of Famers. In 1939, the Grays won one of six consecutive Negro National League pennants, playing home games in Washington's Griffith Stadium.
A reproduction of the on-field uniform the Grays wore during their 1939 pennant-winning season, this jersey is authentic down to the last detail, including period-correct materials, lettering, sleeve patches, and trim. We finished it off with a 20 on the back, the number worn by Hall of Famer Josh Gibson throughout his time with the Grays.
In honor of the life and legacy of Josh Gibson, we have partnered with the Josh Gibson Foundation to bring you this authentic wool flannel jersey, just like he wore it.
