Puerto Rico All-Star Team 1939 Authentic Wool Ballcap- Grey / Red
THE EXACT “PR” LOGO USED FOR THE 1939 PUERTO RICO ALL-STAR TEAM
History: The Puerto Rico League began as a semi-professional winter circuit in 1938. In addition to providing opportunities for native-born players, the league was a haven for American Negro league players, who could extend their earnings by playing all-year round without facing the racial prejudice that existed in the US. Josh Gibson and Satchel Paige were among the many African-American stars who played on the island.
This is an authentic reproduction of the original 1939 Puerto Rico All-Star Team ballcap, hand-sewn from genuine wool baseball cloth and finished with a period-correct “PR” logo.
