Legends Never Go Out Of Style
Founded in 1988, Ebbets Field has grown from a labor of love to a beloved and iconic sportswear brand. We honor the heroes and teams of the past who changed the game. Our winning combination of historical curiosity, painstaking attention to detail, and no-nonsense commitment to authenticity is woven into every garment we make for you.
Ebbets Field co-founder Jerry Cohen grew up in Brooklyn, not far from the historic ballpark in Flatbush that gave us our name. Always fascinated by team emblems and colors, Jerry would buy pack after pack of baseball cards as much to see the caps and uniforms as the players who wore them.
Jerry carried his love for all things baseball into adulthood, especially the teams and players from bygone and long-forgotten eras. In 1987, he tracked down a bolt of authentic wool baseball flannel and had a few shirts made for himself. After enough people stopped him on the street with actual offers to buy the shirt off his back, the Ebbets Field brand officially came to life in 1988.
Our first collections brought to life the history of the game before the era of Major Leage Baseball, including the Negro Leagues and the pre-1958 Pacific Coast League, and we’ve continued to build on that legacy. Inspired and guided by Jerry’s lifelong passion for baseball, Ebbets Field creates authentic apparel that’s true to the game, the legends who played it, and the fans who love it.
“Ebbets has never followed trends. We have always led, and we don’t intend to stop now. We welcome you – whether you just discovered us or are already part of the Ebbets Community – to this new exciting chapter.”
