New York Black Yankees Cotton Twill Baseball Jersey
THIS IS A PRE-ORDER ITEM, WITH AN ESTIMATED SHIP DATE OF APRIL 20
A MODERN TAKE ON THE BLACK YANKEES JERSEY
History: Originally named the Harlem Stars, the New York Black Yankees were founded in the summer of 1932. They spent their first years barnstorming across the country, sometimes playing doubleheaders in different states on successive days. They officially joined the Negro National League in 1936, where they played until their final season in 1948. Hall of Famer Satchel Paige had a stint with the Black Yankees, and other notable players from the team include “Fats” Jenkins, Ted “Double Duty” Radcliffe, and “Mule” Suttles.
The New York Black Yankees Sport Twill Cotton Jersey stays true to the designs of the era, with period-correct lettering and logos. It’s crafted with a lightweight twill that retains the hard-wearing durability of vintage wool jerseys but is easier to wear and easier to wash.
In partnership with the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum (NLBM), we are proud to offer this cotton twill jersey. A portion of proceeds from this product will support the NLBM in Kansas City. For more information about the museum, visit www.nlbm.com
