Oakland Larks 1946 Authentic Wool Ballcap
History: The Larks were one of two Bay Area representatives in the WCBA, an attempt by promoter Abe Saperstein and Olympian Jesse Owens to set up a West Coast-based major Black league. The Larks played at Oaks Park, home of the Pacific Coast League’s Oakland Oaks. The team included future Oakland mayor Lionel Wilson. The league folded after one season, but the Larks continued as a barnstorming team.
This is an authentic reproduction of the ballcap worn in 1946 by the Oakland Larks, hand-sewn from genuine wool baseball cloth and finished with a felt logo patch.
