History: The Denver Broncos began play as charter members of the American Football League (AFL) in 1960. While they did win the first AFL game ever played over the Boston Patriots, they did not fare too well in the ensuing 10 year history of the league, posting an abysmal record of 39-97-4 during that stretch. After the merger with the NFL in 1970, steady improvement finally led the Orange Crush to a Super Bowl appearance in 1977. To date they have won 3 Super Bowl titles behind Pro Football Hall of Fame Quarterback John Elway (2) and future Hall of Famer, Peyton Manning. The Denver Broncos are currently members of the AFC Western Division and play their home games in Empower Field at Mile High, Denver, Colorado.
