History: The single-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox representing Appleton, Wisconsin, the Foxes were led in 1972 by first baseman Lamar Johnson, who hit .313 for the season with 26 home runs and 89 RBIs. Later in his career while playing with the White Sox, Johnson famously hit two home runs in a contest against the Oakland A’s after also singing the national anthem before the game.
