History: After Napoleon Lajoie moved to Cleveland from Philadelphia (where he hit .426 in 1901) he proved so popular with his new club that Cleveland Bronchos fans began to call their team the “Naps”, a name which stuck until Lajoie left Cleveland after the 1914 season. They became the Indians in 1915 and, of course, the Guardians in 2022.
