History: The 1950's were not too kind to the Columbia Lions Football team as they managed just one winning season in 1951. They were Coached by Lou Little who'd been at the helm since 1930 and was better known for two of the biggest wins in Columbia Football history: the 1934 Rose Bowl over Stanford (a school claimed National Championship), and a 21–20 win over Army in 1947 which snapped a 23-game undefeated streak for the Cadets dating back to 1943. Little also coached Columbia player and future Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Sid Luckman of the Chicago Bears. The Columbia Lions are currently members of The Ivy League and play their home games at Wien Stadium, New York, New York.
