History: One of the stars for the '69 Bears was a 6'6" first baseman and outfielder named Cotton Nash, who hit .313 for the Bears with 8 home runs. When Nash was called up by the Minnesota Twins at the end of the season, he became one of the few athletes in American sports history to have appeared in an MLB game as well as an NBA game. In 1968, Nash had finished a professional basketball career in which he had played for the NBA's Los Angeles Lakers and San Francisco Warriors, as well as the ABA's Kentucky Colonels.
