History: Fran Tarkenton was one of the most prolific passers in NFL history amassing just over 47,000 passing yards in his 18 year career. During that span he threw for over 3,000 yards just twice; His first season as a New York Giant in 1967, and his final year with the Vikings in 1978. Of course he irritated defenses into despair with his scrambling prowess as well, rushing for 3,674 yards, 6th all-time for QB's. Tarkenton is both a member of the College and Pro Football Halls of Fame.
