History: Senior Ed McLarty and sophomore Whitey Adams each hit .340 for the 1969 Ole Miss Rebels baseball team. Adams' nine homers were closely followed by senior Lee Moore's eight round trippers. Junior John Shaw's twenty-two stolen bases and sophomore Archie Manning's eighteen thefts (Yes, the College Football legend and NFL star, Dad to Peyton and Eli Manning - Manning) sparked the Rebel scoring punch which led to an SEC Championship in 1969. NCAA District lll Coach of the year Tom Swayze was at the helm.
