History: Before they became the Baltimore Elite Giants, the team spent two years of its Negro National League (Second National League) tenure in Washington from 1936 to 1937. Hall of Famers Roy Campanella and Biz Mackey played for the Elite Giants in Washington. Felton Snow also played on the team, and a few years later in 1939 would manage the Elite Giants as they won their first and only pennant.
The Elite Giants wore caps that had a "D" that year because the owner wanted to move the team to Detroit. Although the move didn't happen they still wore the "D" caps!
