History: The Glass Sox, led by Tommy Holmes and George Selkirk, won the AA regular season title in 1953. Gene Conley led the league in wins, strike outs, and ERA. Conley also played basketball in the NBA, and is one of only two players to win championships in two major American professional sports (Milwaukee Braves and Boston Celtics).
