History: Although personally recruited by Douglas MacArthur to play for Army, running back Floyd Little was eventually persuaded to play for the Syracuse Orangemen by the first African-American Heisman winner, Ernie Davis. Little joined the Denver Broncos in 1967, and spent his entire professional career with the team. Little was the NFL's rushing yards leader in 1971. He went to the Pro Bowl five times and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton in 2010. The Broncos and Syracuse University have both retired Little's #44.
