League: Collegiate Baseball

History: The 1953 Duke Blue Devils baseball team were led by legendary Head Coach Clarence "Ace" Parker. Parker was a football and baseball standout in the 1930s at Duke and was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame and later the Pro Football Hall of Fame. After his pro football career ended, Parker eased into his role as a college baseball coach, leading the Blue Devils to the College World Series in his first season at the helm in 1953. He would bring them there again in 1961. He finished his fourteen-year career with an overall record of 166-162-4. The Duke Blue Devils are currently members of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) and play their home games at Durham Bulls Athletic Park in Durham, North Carolina.
