History: The 1960 Howard University baseball team was led by Coach Clarence Pendleton Jr. Pendleton also coached football, rowing, and led the swimming team to ten championships in eleven seasons. Pendleton moved from the Diamond and other sports to serving under President Ronald Regan as Chairman of the United States Commission on Civil Rights from 1981 - 1988.
