League: Pacific Coast League
History: Seattle entered the PCL in 1903, dropped out in 1907, and rejoined in 1919. After experimenting with the names Clamdiggers, Siwashes, and Indians, the team was christened Rainiers after being purchased by brewery magnate Emil Sick in 1938. Sick also built Sicks Stadium – at the time one of the top minor league parks in the country. Seattle’s PCL entry won league titles in 1924, 1940, 1941, 1942, 1951, 1955, and 1966.
